Attention: Small Publishers and Charity sites: If you are a small publisher or a non-profit charity site. I am flexible in negotiating download rates. I have at times offered my pictures free for causes that I consider worthwhile. And for small publishers I have adjusted my download rates to fit publishing budgets. If I do this or not is my decision and requires my permission. Contact me by email if you fit in this category and we can make arrangements. Please keep in mind that I respect honesty and forthrightness. I want to treat you fair, and would expect the same from you.

Trucking Christmas a revisit
This is one of my favorite barn locations which is located on the Blueridge Parkway. Several years ago I visited it and the picture is below. I love to see the comparison between the Sony H1 and the Nikon D80 that I now use. Above is not an HDR, but tweaked from raw and in photoshop for color and contrast.

Although, the perspective is different I thought you would like to see the difference. The picture below is planned to be in a magazine. I will give you more details later. It is planned for a Christmas issue (in www.imagedrivenmagazine.com ) along with one of my other photos: www.flickr.com/photos/lynchburgvirginia/873505683/
evening sun
“Nobody of any real culture, for instance, ever talks nowadays about the beauty of sunset. Sunsets are quite old fashioned. To admire them is a distinct sign of provincialism of temperament. Upon the other hand they go on.”

Oscar Wilde
Buttering the Sky
Buttering the Sky

Slipping
On my shoes,
Boiling water,
Toasting bread,
Buttering the sky:
That should be enough contact
With God in one day
To make anyone
Crazy.

Hafiz, c. 1320 to 1389

Near night fall
house mountain
“Often while reading a book one feels that the author would have preferred to paint rather than write; one can sense the pleasure he derives from describing a landscape or a person, as if he were painting what he is saying, because deep in his heart he would have preferred to use brushes and colors.”

Pablo Picasso (Spanish Artist and Painter. 1881-1973)
The silence of eternity
Touched by a light that hath no name,
  A glory never sung,
Aloft on sky and mountain wall
      Are God's great pictures hung.

      - John Greenleaf Whittier
foggy wood
"There are some people who live in a dream world,
and there are some who face reality;
and then there are those who turn one into the other."
Douglas Everett

A very foggy day in the National Forest, was hoping to spot an owl, or other animal in the deep mist.

This photo will be in the March 2008 print edition of National Geographic.

Thunder Ridge Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway
“It's wonderful to climb the liquid mountains of the sky. Behind me and before me is God and I have no fears.”
Helen Keller (American Author and Educator who was blind and deaf. 1880-1968)
moonlight walk
“All action takes place, so to speak, in a kind of twilight, which like a fog or moonlight, often tends to make things seem grotesque and larger than they really are.”
  Karl von Clausewitz
